Implementation and training can occur in one of two formats:

1. Live, On-site Training
2. On-line, WebEx Internet Training
(minimum of four 90 minutes sessions prior to go live and at least one 90 minute session after go live)

Please note that the above are minimum recommended training schedules prior to go live. This training is in addition to any basic Centricity Physician Office EMR training required and is meant to augment and supplement the process not replace the basic training.

On-site training provides the most effective and intense training on the Centricity forms and applications. It is recommended for larger organizations with dedicated IT resources and Provider Champions. The process is a train the trainer and provider champion's model. It requires blocking out both IT and the providers for 2-3 days (minimum 8 hrs each day). For this reason, it requires advanced notice and planning for both the site and HIT (usually 8-12 weeks advanced notice).

On-line, WebEx training provides a less intense basic introduction to the Centricity forms and applications and is designed for smaller groups with limited time and resources. The 120 minute sessions allow for easier scheduling with less lead time. It is recommended that the four 120 minute sessions occur after basic Centricity training (logging on, starting and update, navigating in the system) and occur over a two week period (2 sessions/week). The sessions can be spread out if needed but condensing the training period is more effective. Scheduling of the on-line training sessions should be made at least 6-8 weeks in advance.

Additional Consulting and/or Training Hours: Many sites request additional consultation hours from HIT for remedial training, advanced training, or workflow reengineering. HIT recommends follow-up consultation and/or training after go live to answer any additional clinical workflow questions or assist in supplemental implementation and training needs of your group. Additional hours can be requested subject to availability based on the pricing schedule below.

Contracted Consulting Agreement: Many organizations are interested in securing dedicated consulting agreements with HIT. Upon request, HIT can provide a contracted consulting agreement for a dedicated amount of contracted consulting hours based on the individual needs and time frame of the organization. Such contracting offers the advantage of guaranteed availability and discounted pricing on defined blocks of consultation hours. These hours can be used for implementation, training, workflow reengineering, customization, or custom clinical content development.
